Today we welcomed a couple from Ghana at our curtain runner factory. They had placed several small orders with us before, and their daughter has been the main contact. The family runs a window treatment company in Ghana.

They first arrived in Shanghai, then traveled to our factory location. I arranged for colleagues to pick them up at the airport and made sure they had accommodation sorted. After more than ten hours of flying to get to China, they certainly deserved proper care. They came this time to inspect their latest shipment of curtain tracks. This batch was a significant order for them, and they had arranged their own freight company to handle the logistics, so they coordinated to visit our factory together with the shipping company.

After resting for a night, the next day my colleagues drove them to our storage warehouse to check the color and quantity of their tracks. For every batch of tracks we ship out, we attach a sample swatch of the corresponding material and color to the outside of each package—for example, if the tracks inside are silver aluminum alloy, we stick a silver aluminum square on the packaging. This couple inspected everything very carefully. Not only did they verify the quantities one by one, but they also opened several packages on site to check. They were very satisfied with the product quality, and then discussed with the freight company about which vehicles to use and when to pick up the shipment.

In the afternoon, they asked if they could visit our curtain runner production workshop. I agreed and arranged a colleague to accompany them. They also wanted to see my other factory where we manufacture curtain rod finials, so I arranged for them to be driven there as well. Due to environmental regulations, some products can’t be produced in this area, so I didn’t go along—I usually stay at the office of our curtain runner factory.

Two days of warm hospitality brought more smiles to their faces. Before they left, we sat down for a chat in my office. Finally, they ordered some curtain product accessories. After we confirmed the price, the gentleman pulled out cash directly and said, “I pay for my eyes see.” After I issued the payment receipt, Mr. Dave insisted on taking a photo with all the colleagues who had helped entertain them throughout their visit.
